The hated business card.
“Maestro, are you kidding me? Business cards are for cubicle-dwellers. I’m a wholesaler! Gimme something I can use!”
First rule: No excuses. The Maestro simply does not allow them.
Ok, now it’s time to get real. Where to get your cards and what they need to say.
You can get them locally, at a printing shop, or online. I lile to support local businesses, but you will pay more. The best card, which I talk about next, is the money business card, which you can get at ezsigns.net.
Wholesaling Tip 1
The “money,” or “$100 bill,” business card is… money. Tell me if you saw what looked like a folded $100 bill sitting on the ground, or on a table somewhere, you wouldn’t pick it up? I thought so. And ezsigns.net has them!
An absolutely huge mistake that I see so many make, is writing your business name on the front of the card. Listen, people in distress (that’s who is going to be calling you) do not want to deal with Joe Schmoe’s Investment Group. They want to deal with regular people, just like them, who understand what they are going through.

Your card is an important part of your marketing. Make sure you do it right!
I know, I know. Business cards flat out suck. You’ll get no argument from me on that. However, every card you give, could mean thousands of dollars in profit. You doubt my veracity?
This is how The Maestro does it:
Order you cards. Order a lot of them.
Determine now how many, each day, you are going to give out. Here’s a quick hint: make it at least five. And yes, you are going to have to give them to people you don’t know. Get over it.
This is huge. Always, always, always give out at least two to a person. And no, giving out two to one person doesn’t count for two toward your daily goal. It’s just one. And that’s cheating. No cheating, my friend.
Always, always, always offer CASH as a referral. “Mr. So-and-So, my name is Joe Schmoe and I am a real estate investor. I purchase homes with cash, and close quickly. If you, or anyone you know, needs to sell their home fast, please let me know. Oh, and I offer $500 cash for any referral that turns into a deal. Take care.”
Success Tip 3
This small, but vital, action could make you a ton of cash. Complacency will kill your business. If you slack on the small things, you will undoubtedly slack on other parts of your business, as well.
“Maestro, this sounds kind of stupid. I mean, I feel like a douche bag handing out cards to strangers. I want to do other things, like bandit signs and direct mail. I just don’t think this is me…”
Uh… nice attitude. Look, I can’t change the way you think. But, I can sure as hell explain what your life will be like if you continue with this type of attitude. It’ll be the exact same it is right now. How’s that workin’ out for you?
